Acceptance as doctoral researcher

People who intend to pursue a doctorate should conclude a doctoral agreement with their supervisor at an early stage and apply for acceptance at the faculty. In order to apply for acceptance as a doctoral researcher at the faculty, a doctoral agreement has to be concluded first.

The representatives of the doctoral students at KIT and especially we as the board of the Convention of Doctoral Students at the KIT Faculty of Computer Science are of the opinion that the acceptance as a doctoral student is immensly important. Concluding a doctoral agreement helps to narrow down the topic of the doctorate at an early stage and to define a roadmap for the doctorate. Many rights relevant to the doctorate depend on acceptance. In addition, all accepted doctoral students form the convent, which enables us to represent our concerns to the faculty, the department, the senate and the presidium. The acceptance process also allows us to better understand the situation of doctoral students at our faculty.

The Executive Board encourages all persons, even those who are not yet quite sure whether they really want to pursue a doctoral project, to prepare and initiate the acceptance procedure as early as possible.
